If you have tried to quit before and have not been successful, don't give up! Tobacco and nicotine dependence is a chronic disease—is common for smokers to undergo multiple quit attempts. Boost your chance at success by developing a quit plan and a support system. Talk to your doctor about quitting. The use of nicotine replacement therapy may help heavy smokers. Patches have been shown to double a smoker's chance of quitting.

Quitting tobacco improves your health and reduces your risk of heart disease, cancer, lung disease, and many other illnesses. Whether you smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes, use chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes or vapes, there are many resources out there to help you quit.
